Whenever I thought of California, the second city I always thought of was SanDiego after LA. So my first trip was gonna be fantastic. I just knew it. I picked the perfect partner in crime too. My friend Sara who had been there before , and guaranteed a great time no matter what ! After a quick search on Expedia we chose our hotel : Hilton at Gaslamp District ! and off we went with our weekend bags in tow…

The drive was just about 4 hours, not too bad. The Gaslamp District was definitely a good choice, as it was in the middle of all the action. Bars, Restaurants, Clubs and Starbucks at every corner ofcourse. Coming from LA, the proximity of the Train so close to the hotel was a plus plus ! We bought the train tickets through the automated kiosks around ( so much easier right?) and off we went !

The first stop was Little Italy and the best part of being there on a weekend is the outdoors market selling everything from Raw honey to Fresh Flowers to Clothing. So after a little retail therapy, its time to find a good place to sit, get your drinks on and EAT some PASTA ! Apart from Chilling at the Rooftop Pool at the Hilton Gaslamp district, the rest of the day was spent at Old Town San Diego. Thats how it was in 1850s in California, and its still preserved ! Check out more info at www.oldtownsandiego.org
