A blazer is a closet staple for every closet – women, men, young old, shabby or chic. Its one of those items that is a starting point of dressing-up in the western world. My first jacket/blazer was part of my school uniform, and ever since that point every time I put one on, I stand up a little straighter. I think at one point I owned about 17 blazers ranging from red to violet to even a yellow one. However as I get older, I have opted for more sophisticated options, and a White blazer is a must in every girl’s closet to pair with black slacks and just head out the door without thinking. To add a twist to a generic white jacket (and not look like you walked off a set of Grey’s Anatomy) my pick is a silk one with beautiful details from Shahina Hussain Label – a Chicago based clothing brand created by Ms.Hussain whos’ style ideology is “ influenced by a foundation deeply rooted in Indian culture, traditions, and values” and her unique mix of Eastern & western Styles are delicate and charming with silk fabrics and artful details.
I paired my jacket with a silk camisole and some flared pants that I scored from none other than Amazon ! I wanted to stay with the flirty feminine vibe with flowy rich silky fabrics. Some gilded gold high heels completed the look.
The pearl details on the sleeves was my favorite part, and this milky white jacket with the sheen of pearls make it super elegant and gives it a timeless appeal. I added these Kundan and pearl earrings that I got in Dubai to the look which added a bit of traditional gold for that enhanced ethnic vibe (and ofcourse to match my gold heels )
